American Geophysics Inc. successfully completed a challenging concrete scanning project atop four 100-foot-high wastewater sludge treatment tanks at the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) facility. Tasked with marking all detected rebar to facilitate the application of top coats and waterproofing, the team utilized the Proceq GP8800 GPR concrete scanner for precise rebar detection. Operating under high-risk conditions, the project required strict adherence to OSHA standards, including full PPE and certified fall protection measures, ensuring the safety of technicians throughout the process.
With expert calibration of the Proceq GP8800, the team accurately identified and marked all rebar on the tank caps, enabling the client to complete their critical construction tasks with confidence.
