Pro-Team Investigation of Existing Concrete Structures at a Hospital in Philadelphia, PA

Project Description:
The engineering and construction design team needed to overbuild on the concrete structures existing on-site. The team needed to know if there was any detected delamination; or any parallel or subparallel flaws from the surface such as the slabs, walls, columns, mat-foundation and beams. In addition to flaw location, the team needs to know thickness profiling without the need to drill, core or excavate as well as identifying any potential “honey-combing” in the concrete. Extensive data was collected and presented in data files for the structural engineers to decipher. They were then able to determine if the detected voids, cavities, or honey-combing would impact the structural integrity of the concrete to be overbuilt on.
