Location of Subsurface Pipes and Cables in Tamaqua, PA

Project Description:
This project was performed in Tamaqua, PA. This was part of a Verizon site adjacent to the historic train depot. The technician needed to identify any subsurface utilities, anomalies, or data consistent with underground storage tanks (USTs). The technician is using the Fisher TW-6 magnetometer, the RD1100 GPR 250 MHz ground-penetrating radar, and the RD8000 pipe and cable locator. (RD stands for the brand “Radio Detection”) All findings were flagged for depths up to 10 feet below ground surface (BGS), or 10 feet deep in the subsurface, in APWA coded colors (American Public Works Association).
