Concrete Scan at the New Brooklyn Heights Public Library for Location of Rebar and Electrical Systems in Brooklyn, NY
Project Description:
The New Brooklyn Heights Public Library needed to have structural changes made for the new design. The construction called for an over-build/remodel, as well as preservation of the existing electrical and other wiring systems. Our technician scanned for rebar, and other structural reinforcements in concrete slabs, columns and beams using the GSSI Mini XT 2.7 Mini GHz concrete scanner (handheld GPR). In addition, the technician is identified and located conduits and other electrical systems housed in the concrete by using the RD8000 pipe and cable locator. With the information American Geophysics discovered, the construction team was able to move forward without harming any of the existing structural engineering that needed to be preserved.
This was for the new Brooklyn Heights Public Library that needed to have changes made to the new design, for an over-build/remodel, as well as preservation of the existing electrical and other wiring systems.
