Quality Renovation of Using Ground Penetrating Radar to Map Existing Utility Lines in Goshen, NY
Project Description:
The engineering and construction design team needed to overbuild and perform some renovations to the property at in Goshen, New York. All subsurface utilities and any “unknowns” needed to be identified and mapped out prior to the commencement of the demo/renovation. Unknowns can be any anomalies detected in the subsurface or decommissioned/abandoned utility systems.
American Geophysics used GPR to identify all the “unknowns” or decommissioned utilities on-site. The technician was able to designate all active utilities on-site and put together an active utility map with digital GPS data points so that the client could prevent any unnecessary damages during construction as well as ensuring the safety of everyone working on-site. Our digital GPS mapping equipment can overlay over CAD drawings, or be uploaded to Google Earth for real-time construction activities on-site.
